I'm curious as to which 3DS/2DS /vp/ primarily plays on.

Share with us why you choose it. Is it comfortable and why over the other options? Also which color/version?

Unless you're holding out for an ORAS 3DSXL.

Original 3DS. Had an XL for a while but couldn't stand the screens and it wasn't as comfortable for my little babby hands, so I transferred back and got my cash back.

I might go for a 2DS down the road if my original 3DS starts to die out. Only reason I'm hesitant on that is it isn't as portable. Love that Green/White one.

The XL is really great. I have the Fire Emblem 3DS at home too to trade with myself and what not. But it gets about half the love my XL does.

3DS XL, exactly like the one on the right in OP's picture.

A question to all 2DS players: is it actually a good console to play with? Even though it's basically a regular 3DS that's always open, the buttons are higher and that seems really weird to me. I haven't tried one but I'd expect it to be less comfortable than the regular 3DS.

I got it because the 3DS felt pretty small in my hands and the screen didn't feel large enough for me, I also got it to trade between my X and Y.

bought an Aqua Blue 1 week before Ambassador ended that thing was my bro for life then i thought it was time to upgrade to an XL.

I Chose of course the Lizardon/Charizard edition, swapped its guts with a US regular blue xl then transferred everything over.

also got the Zelda XL cause Dat gold, Gold Pokemon 3DS, 3 2DS's every color besides Sea Green (soon) i might get a few Smash XL's if they release stateside.

I got it with X/Y, it's the one on the right in OP's picture. Pokémon X/Y were the main reason why I got it but then I was invited to get more games & they were nice to play.
Sure it was expensive & didn't have a charger but worth it; its large screens truly show how beautiful the 3D is & let's me enjoy the little details, like in Zelda OoT 3D. The backside is it shows very clearly the lag in Pokémon battles, especially when the 3D is on.

One of the reasons why I chose the 3DS XL over the 2DS (which was an option at first) is because of the shell interface; it's very protective of the screens & makes the 3DS take a small size & fit in my pocket. If I was to get a 2DS, a cover would be essential to buy.

The button layout bares a nice resemblance to the PSP, I was a hardcore PSP player so the 2DS got my attention because of that. I didn't get it though, got the XL in favor of bigger screens & comfortableness in giant hands.

I was holding out on a 3DS until I heard that purple was released, so I started out on that. I wanted to switch to 3DS XL because of the terrible resolution/tiny size that DS games had on the 3DS. I planned on getting a 3DS XL when XY came out, but the XY editions just weren't to my taste, but goddamn it if I didn't crave that Xerneas gold 3DS XL Japan had so I went with black. The 3DS XL is superior in every way to me. Longer battery life, larger screen, sensible stylus placement, better buttons, and better DS game resolution.

No need for 2DS. Looks dumb as fuck anyway.

I play on the Cosmic Black 3DS with the Espurr Wanted cover.

I DID consider getting the Xerneas XL when I first saw it, but after actually holding one I found it really awkward and clunky to use. Plus it didn't fit in my pocket.

The SD card is exchangeable so that's nothing to really complain about.
I've got a 32gig in mine and plenty of full games including Pokemon X, Ocarina of Time, and Fire Emblem.

I have an Ocarina of Time 3DS. I got it and I've used it since it came out (actually maybe I got it a bit after it came out..)

I want to upgrade but with college back I dont really have extra money to spend on upgrading. I really need to now since my 3DS has a POP noise that it does and shuts off if I tilt the screen back too far (anything farther than a straight 90 degree angle...)

I'm waiting for Smash 3ds to be announced over here.

I have the Zelda 3DS-XL. I love the big screen and the 3-D is surprisingly nice. Only complaint is that it clearly isn't meant to be played one handed which I enjoy doing in Pokemon games. Conversely it is the perfect size for two-handed play and the clam shell is nice. I've never tried the other models but I'm really happy with the one I have.

Assumming there is, as OP said himself. It's not confirmed yet, but when it does, you can bet a shitload of people are going to get in line for them. I'm just curious as to whether it's safer to preorder if the chance exists, or go to a store that hardly will see much competition in customers.

If it's a regular release, I'm sure there will probably be plenty of them.

Pikachu was a special edition one and not for a game release, which is why it went so fast. The BW ones and XY ones both were specifically for the game. (although its perplexing why XY didn't have the game with it)

That's another thing, if ORAS ones will include the game with them.

I first had a red 3DS. Upgraded to Zelda XL them sold the red regular. Today I bought the Zelda original 3DS for $85. I don't even know why. Mostly for the portability and XL to stay home. It's in good shape minus a scratch or two on the outside. No scratches on the screen.

But wow playing X on 3DS feels ant sized. I basically can only play it on the XL.

Mine came with a Toshiba SD card, made in Japan. I hear a lot of them have Chinese Lexar cards now.

I'll never give up my DS Lite. I prefer it for DS games over my 3DS. The 3DS was nice for DSi games such as gen5 because it could use WPA wifi (and the cameras for transceiver I guess), but with WFC down, I can't think of any reason to use it over the Lite. I did eventually buy myself a cheap router so I could play the gen4 games.
