I stopped using Serebii the moment I realized 4chan actually had a pokemon board in 2010. (So, right around the "fake" starter leak. Been using 4chan since '06 though.) I just cannot deal with retarded kids anymore. I grew up being a retarded kid in 1998 on the internet, so I have little desire to continue something I had going on for over a decade.

Though, I do browse Project Pokemon a lot. I enjoy reading up on legality and the advances they did in data hacking.

When I was fifteen I used to watch pokemon episodes online, and one website that streamed all the episodes had a Chatango box on the side.

And then one day I noticed the conversations that went on. And then one day I joined in.

That was one of the best summers of my life, haha. I spent all summer playing pokemon with strangers that became great internet friends, battling and trading and breeding and just having a great time.

Later I joined a web community that overlapped with them a little bit, they were a bit more serious about competitive battling. It has mostly died out but it was great while it lasted.

Only other vidya boards I go to are /v/ and some game-specific boards on GameFAQs, but the latter is absolutely horrendous for Pokemon and the former is hit or miss for just about everything.

The boards I go to on 4chan are mostly /m/, /v/, and /vp/. On occasion I go to /toy/ and /a/, but nothing close to often.

other boards I frequent include /cm/ and /y/ because you know why.

I've gone onto /a/ and /v/ on occasion, and am instantly reminded why I don't go there regularly.

I've tried going on tumblr as well, but dear god every other user is incredibly annoying. I ended up just following the professional animator blogs and some of the better artist ones. The moment I see any sign of SJW I immediately unfollow.

I hate to be this guy, OP, but other Pokemon portals, boards and forums with the possible exception of Smogon board (that is, unless you mind dying due to excessive boredom while people keep crunching numbers around you) are a tad worse than the containment cesspool known as /vp/.

For some reason boards where people go around with established identity are full of circlejerking, resolving conflicts via weighting parcicipants according to their notoriety and attempting to put up a struggle just to have that last proverbial word for no other reason that to try and save face before the rest of the named crowd.

/vp/'s fast pace and anonymity assures that you will keep running into the same shit as well, but it is easier to either push a poster off his pedestal or back off from your own faggotry.

Artfag communities and portals are definitely worth trying out, though.
