Having Pikachu become the mascot wasn't the original plan. As for mine? One little cameo in the anime and that's it. Don't expect much from him because they still can't move on from an incident that happened over 15 years ago.

How bad could it be? It gets Nasty Plot and great coverage in the form of Grass Knot, Focus Blast, etc... Volt Tackle can be useful, Lightning Rod is a great ability... You could definitely do worse than Raichu.
