I once had a mawile frozen for something like 10 turns. It was fucking ridiculous. At least sleep has a maximum turn count, but apparently freeze doesn't.

yeah Freeze has like a 20% of defrosting every turn iirc. makes sense why they don't have any auto-freeze moves.

I know that feel anon. I had to learn the hard way that weather is a HORRIBLE strategy in maison dubs and trips. Funny how every team has a ninetails, hippopotas, abomasnow or tyranitar. Hell, my last attempt was nearly halted by a snow warning arourus. I ohko'd but the damage was done and I lost a turn setting back up. Ai chooses weather ability using mons to be slower than yours. I also was stopped dead in my tracks by a sandstorm, sandveil, bright powder protect garchomp. Battle maison op. Still trying to come up with a less disrupt-able team

Doesn't seem to. I ran a kanga/garchomp lead, and the opponent usually lead with a fighting and ice or fairy. Switched it up with lucario and sableye, and immediately I started seeing different things. Pretty sure they put together teams that specifically counter yours, within some limitations. A certain trainer can only has a certain pool of pokemon to grab from.

None of that deals with hax, but you'd be stupid to use things like hydro pump in the Maison. Will-o-wisp is the most inaccurate move I can bear to use, and even then I like to use wide lens sometimes.

I had an idea for something like that. It could be made that Pokémon can instantly thaw themselves out if they use a move that melts ice, not just if they're hit by one.
A move called Absolute Zero which instantly freezes a target Pokémon, but ONLY if it knows a move that can thaw said ice; the move fails otherwise. When the Pokémon thaws itself in this way, the power of that move is increased.
Gimmicky, but there would also be an added ris that the Pokémon would use the thawing move on the same turn it becomes frozen and deal tremendous damage, and would also be useful for switch-out-to-Flash-Fire-Pokémon ruses.

this sort of shit has always been part of battle tower/fronteir/maison/etc. I've even had a gliscor hit 3 OHKO moves in a row in the fog so the luck is definitely stacked against you.

The first part of your post is already in the ame though. If a fire move or one of the two burning water moves is used by a frozen Pokemon, they instantly thaw and use the attack.
