Recently /vp/ has been plagued by an epidemic of Numelgon (Japanese name) threads by an infamous individual, who shall remain nameless, who's insistence that Numelgon should be " only" has engulfed the board into a downward spiral of shitposting, mass male Numelgon giveaways in spite of he shall not be named, and hatred for Numelgon everywhere.

In these dark times it's easy to lose sight of the truth and even easier to cave into the peer-pressure of other posters. In a way, we are all victims here, but there is someone who's been more scarred by this than any of us...

Numelgon itself.

Due to the mass outbreak of shitposting, Numelgon has suffered the most. Time has not been kind to the poor slug dragon, first being for many a letdown as the final evolution of Goomy and then the unfortunate target of slime fetishists everywhere.

Numelgon have, however, felt the brunt of this hatred and misfortune. A whole gender, 50% of the population in fact, have been scrutinized and abandoned due to the efforts of one shitposter trying to force their opinion upon the masses.

I, but a humble anon, have come here to say this...

Do not blame the Pokémon for the sins of the trainer.

Numelgon isn't to blame in all this, the shitposter is. Numelgon never tried to be anything but itself, be it or . You as a trainer have a right to raise any gendered Numelgon you wish, if you so choose, and shouldn't feel obligated to raise a particular gender just in spite of he who shall not be named.

I happen to like both and Numelgon for what they are and think that either gender can be appropriate.

So I beseech you, my fellow anons, do not look upon Numelgon be it or with disdain due to the shitposters or fetishists. Allow this poor Pokémon the same right all are allowed: a chance to be trained, a chance to be a teammate, a chance to be loved...
