Let's talk about them for a second. We could've had something a nice five man band and they could've been interesting.

The prime offender here however, is Serena/Calem, the NPC one. They are apparently the child of two prominent Pokemon trainers, but here's an issue: who are they? One of them could have been a Gym Leader, the other could have been an Elite Four or something. That would have been interesting, and it'd also give them a purpose in Serena/Calem's quest. They'd go on to take on the Pokemon League to live up to their family's name or whatever and eventually challenge them, seeing as how their parents are supposedly both skilled trainers. I think what they were going for is to have this character be insecure, somewhat aloof and trying to be the best, but the pay off was just miserable. They could have been very kuudere/tsundere, and realize that what's important is not trying to be the best, but going on this journey with their friends. They also don't even show up on the Gym statues, a concept that was long since abandoned. If they were doing Gen 1 throwbacks the whole time, why not add that? Like, "Certified Trainers: [player's name], Serena/Calem". That shows that they're trying and they ARE on a quest just like you.

And the worst thing is, their teams are just pathetic, some of them having incomplete movesets. I propose this team instead:
> Meowstic: They keep this, and the gender will match them, same with Pyroar below.
> Sylveon: Showing off the new Eeveelution and Fairy type.
> Absol: Showing off a Mega Evolution.
> Pyroar / Clawitzer / Gogoat: 1st in the FWG core.
> Clawitzer / Gogoat / Pyroar: 2nd in the FWG core.
> Chesnaught / Delphox / Greninja: 3rd in the FWG core, and their starter.

They're all Kalos native Pokemon too, aside from Absol. Hopefully this would make them competent enough. Thoughts? This thread could also be a general discussion for the other friend characters.
