Why do people care so much about shiny Pokémon? I know it's used for battling most of the time to show them off. Meh am I the only one who just beats the game ad that's it. I don't care about training IV's what's the point

Shinies are to show off, you said so yourself, and some people just like beating the probability game.
Yes, you are the only person to beat the game then leave it.
Training IVs gives people something to do, and ensure they don't get their dicks kicked in if they try to play other people.

The only IV that really matters is speed. The rest are only useful when a move is right on the edge of a KO, which isn't too common unless your or your opponents move choice is shit.
