>>20526359Dark/Dragon is a good offensive typing. Hits basically everything but Fairies, Lucairo and Bisharp. Everything else, it gets great neutral coverage and nails the weaker SpDef of a lot of otherwise troublesome threats, which not a lot of relevant Dark pokemon can do.
Also, it's based off of Orochi, not purely a Hydra, and definitely not King Ghidorah, so Poison or Steel make no sense flavor wise. >>20535820>>20535852I'm glad that despite all of these people pretending to know jack shit about competitive pokemon, there's at least some people here who do.
Bonus points for understanding that it's speed tiering is a seperate concept from speed stat.
>>20535775Even without Life Orb, the even boost among all attacks is worth it, ESPECIALLY after a hypothetical 165-180 SpAtk range after Mega.
An even attack boost on nearly all of Hydreigon's attacks is notable considering his disgustingly good coverage.
Though, I actually completely forgot that Dragon Pulse had no secondary (usually just assume the base, go to moves like Flamethrower and shit have secondary chances), so Mega Launcher may have more use due to the sheer power. It's up in the air.
Did a quick calc, and even at 180 base SpAtk, Dark Pulse with Mega Launcher still is only a 3HKO against Azu.
252 SpA Mega Launcher Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Azumarill: 150-177 (37.1 - 43.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
Worth considering. Mega Launcher doesn't allow it to take care of any of Hydreigon's newfound stops.
