XY was weird with the new Pokemon. It introduced so many Megas which were so good, and really spiced up the metagame like crazy, but there's a TON of Kalos pokemon that are almost good, but have one or two critical flaws that keep them from being good.
The first that comes to mind for me is my bro Avalugg. Such a sweet design, SotC shit right here. Great stats, awesome support moves, but damn. That Ice type. It fucking stings.
>>20547335Trevanent is just one of those cases where he happens to be weak to a lot ofthe metagame. He's not bad, though, make no mistake. Being weak to Dark and Fire is just rough in this meta.
>>20547364Honestly, I'd say wrong gen. His movepool isn't too shabby, has a nice speed tiering, and hits decently hard. Beyond the weather gimmicks, he's just got nothing that makes him stand out.
He, along with many electric pokemon, is cursed with mediocrity, not so much poor ability. If this was Gen V, he'd rocket in usage.
>>20555928Dragalge's not horrid. I really think Adaptability will help him. It gives it amazing offensive presence, and really nice coverage.
As is, it's stats are really nicely tailored, actually. Dragon/Poison is an underrated defensive typing, it's got good coverage, and not too shabby stats. A fully defensive Assvest variant with Adaptability will see some used, I bet.
He really needs a recovery move, though... >>20556351I really think there's a handful of Pokemon that GF specifically decides to not focus on viability for, and just goes straight for flavor. Moxie makes sense for a lion Pokemon, but sucks balls it competitively.
