It's not even that well-known or strong a Pokemon, and it has no new interesting ability, the look of it is hardly re-invented and it's just had the Fairy type slapped onto it as a sort of "will this do?"
A couple of the original megas are this bad, but alongside Slowbro it is the only mega that gives you a "wow it's fucking nothing" vibe. Now I know a couple of people are going to go "muh brobro" but lets be honest it's the same typing, the inideal ability and it's not even Slowbro anymore.
Say they make a Mega Golduck that is just Golduck with the same typing and Damp. Its look hardly changes. Would you call it a good new mega? No.
