Im trying to get a living shiny dex since i have a normal living dex and nothing to do.
I have two 3DSs and a copy of both X and Y, so im able to clone whatever I have for other peoples shinies.
A lot are crappy wild found shinies that I give cloned 6 IVs for, and I make sure the person im trading with knows that itll be cloned so I think its fair.
Getting 340 has taken me 6 months so ill probably finish it up after I beat ORAS

I also have a google docs list that lists all of the shinies I have and it makes it so much easier to trade but it was a pain to make

First I got all the entries on the pokédex for the 718 dudes, then I completed the livedex. Now I'm trying to get all the entries for shinies, which I'll follow with a shiny livedex. Unfortunately I don't have enough space in my PC to fit everyone, but when ORAS comes out and I beat it I'll probably move over a large part of my livedex, and continue the shiny one on Y.
Could you share your Google Docs template or something, since it sounds like something that would help me out sooner or later?

I always have a few extra shinies, ones that I get because I either get it for free for helping someone out or I already have a better version of it

I started it when I had about 100 or so shinies so it wasnt too bad to start out, and just add on little by little what I get. Its a pain to move every thing around to fit in pokemon to keep it in dex order but its helped me so much in the long run with trading, and if you plan on doing something like this I highly recommend it

Not counting red Gyra I have Budew, Pinsir, Magnezone, Golett, and Druddigon. All of them are random encounters from various games except the Pinsir which was from the game corner in Leaf Green.

The two 3DS method of cloning isnt exactly "easy" since it doesnt work a lot of the time but yeah Id be willing to do it, but like you said itll take a pretty long time.

I'm continuing on with a double hunt until my HG/SS cartridges arrive in the mail - MMing for shiny Sewaddle, and REing in the Virbank Complex in White 2. My W2 has the shiny charm so I'm hoping it won't take too much longer, but I'm only 7 boxes in on my Sewaddle hunt so that has at least a week's worth of legs on it still. What other activities do you do during the day? Gym? If you can find between 2 or 3 hours spare each day, you can hatch between 2 or 3 boxes of eggs a day... that way you should be able to complete an MM within two weeks or so.

The shininess is determined by the SID and TID. The egg being shiny determines on the ID of the game it hatches on. Your egg will be shiny because it has a random variable which matches the game. In other words, it would always be shiny, and you could potentially have multiple eggs which hatch as shiny.
