Have you ever seen the blog posts the champs make after worlds? Their EV spreads are all over the place for very specific treats, it's insane. And if you know Gardevoir has a 80% chance of fainting from a M-Luke's BP you do something about it.

Must be thinking of something else, the match was so long ago. Upon a second viewing it does seem like he got lucky and his opponent got a low roll. Even with 64 evs (can he really afford anymore) into HP/Def theres a good chance it should have died

I talked to Sejun after the match. He ran no hp evs but a little defense evs so it was a damage roll but rolls happen. It's my fault for doing an all or nothing like that

The set in Mega Garde's analysis runs 24 def EVs.

Mandi runs 108 SDef EVs. Basically every defensive pokemon's suggested set has split EVs.

Every base 115 runs 224+ speed.

Daily reminder that 20 HP/252 Att/236 Spd Jolly is the best spread for Scarf Lando-T in OU. No reason to run anything else. It outspeeds Adamant Zard X after one DD, Mega Gyarados after one DD, Mega Manectric, Scarf Excadrill, Greninja, and Talonflame.

With a spread of 80HP/140Def/80SAtk/220Spe for the Gardevoir. SAtk is that low since I don't recall seeing the Lucario taking more than 60% from that gleam.

Then again, who runs +Atk M-Luke?

Smogon recommends 252/252/4 as base sets, but they repeatedly mention DO NOT TRY TO LADDER 1500+ WITH 252/252/4 SPREADS. In all caps.

Well I had some stuff I'm pretty sure no one would prepare for like scarf ice punch ttar, life orb chomp, haban mence that all covered many weaknesses charizard had.

The reason for chary is because I felt Mega Lucario and Mawile would be the call at worlds to stop kang and Charizard beat both of those megas while providing aone of the strongest special nukes in the game in the form of overheat

252/252 spreads are useful for offensive Pokemon a lot of the time. No need to run 20 HP for the sake of being a non-conformist.

No, all stat boost apply except for speed, because turn order is decided before the turn starts. Abilities are there too, the only reason some people think otherwise is because of the case of Banette, whose ability alters turn order, but since turn order is decided before it mega evolve, its ability doesn't work on the first turn.

There is literally no better option for certain pokemon than 4/252/252 spreads. What the fuck else would Mega Manectric, Latios, and Bisharp rather be running? Only 3/6th of my team has anything other than standard spreads.

Doesn't even a Speed boost (or drop) apply instantly, for moves whose power is affected by speed (Gyro Ball and Electro Ball)?. It just doesn't change turn order, since that is decided before the turn starts as you say.
