Lenghty explanation:
Random IV values are RNG'd and follow a preset pattern from a huge value table; gender and shiny IDs are also determined by another randomized list. Each time an egg is created, they select a combination from that table for the first one, and they'll follow the next combination from that table, until you alter something on the breeding, like using an everstone/destiny knot/change egg groups/ditto/etc.
Using Destiny Knot, though, changes the table settings to just RNG 1-3(rarely, most times it's 2) random individual values, then they RNG the inherited IV combinations from parents from another set table of IV spreads, however. Then, follow rest of the procedures the same way as normal eggs.
