mfw i "left" the trading card scene in the 6th grade, traded all my cards off for little to nothing.
i really regret selling my cards.
i had completed sets base, jungle, fossil, and the first two gym expansions all in numerical order ;_;

Its a secret rare ultraball. Notice how the border is gold? The entire card is holo. I got it in a plasma freeze pack. You usually only get one secret rare in a box, if you are lucky.

I have a complete Gym Leaders set in Japanese that I think is worth a few hundred dollars.

Back in the day, as in like 14 years ago, I got my hands on an almost complete Basic 1st Ed. set. Sold it right when the market was crashing on eBay to someone in Britain for like $1500. The buyer was pissed because he said the condition wasn't as good as I stated but eBay had no buyer protection so he couldn't do anything. I was like 15 lol.

I know how you feel haha, I just started looking at the TCG stuff last week again too and seeing fairy type for the first time blew my mind.

Makes me want to get back into it, though I don't exactly want to jump back into that money black hole when I don't have anyone to play with and it'd be casually anyway.
