How does one determine the pokemon's legality via pokeball?

For example, I see a lot of pokemon in HGSS Apricorn balls in the GTS general, does that mean they were cloned? Or did they simply use a HGSS mother and a KB father etc.

When conditions does a pokemon need to fulfill to qualify for being in a dream ball etc.?
