Hey, /tr/, I took a long break from competitive battling and recently decided to get back into it, I just have a few questions
>What happened to Blissey?
>what happened to weather in general?
>Did Baton Pass get banned or something?

>why are all the pseudo legendaries getting mega forms? Shouldn't they go to more Pokemon like Mawile?

Weather can no longer be permanent, so it's a lot easier to handle, but some people still use it effectively

Baton Pass is restricted to one user per team by Smogon

Mostly yes
Button is still popular but now comes in different flavors
That's for Game Freak to decide. Supposedly the select few of first wave megas were given to popular Pokemon so players would be more likely to use and test them in game.

First of all, ignore 6v6 singles, it's shit in this meta because it's no longer supported by devs. Look into double battles that VGC supports. It's the most balanced battle format without shitheads running it.

I recommend you go to nuggetbridge and read up on teams.

The original BP team was Scolipede/Smeargle/Vaporeon/Espeon/Sylveon/FIller (Mr.Mime/Zapdos)
What changed? Well, the team's now entirely immune to Dragon Tail thanks to Sylveon, and Scolipede's such an amazing supporter that it boosted it up considerably.

(personally, I think Scolipede should've been banned instead of making the BP clause because that's really what pushed it over the edge but w/e)

In-game, yes. In official and most non-official tournaments, not since a long time ago. The metagame was obviously shaped by GF for competitive doubles, not singles. This is including the myriad of double and triple-only moves and abilities, and the megas that are stupidly broken in singles but work just fine, if a bit OP, in doubles (Lucario, Kangaskhan, Gengar for example).
Also, the format is generally more flexible. Maybe VGC is a bit too restrictive with Mythical Pokémon where most of the time they end up in UU, but there is an alternative in Smogon Doubles. Also, if you want to use non-Kalos Pokémon in a doubles format, there's Battle Spot which ranks you globally.
