It has moves on the supporting side. Nuzzle, Entrainment, Charm and Eerie Impulse are all decent.

It just has no way to stay around long enough to use any of them.

This. Dedenne works well n doubles by simply spreading paralysis, changing abilities, and lowering stats, thereby forcing butthurt switches, allowing your other powerhouse Pokemon to sweep house.

Yes, also dedenne is surprisingly good against cheap teams, nuzzle fucked over a spore/lock on/sheer cold smeargle I was up against. Shit was awesome

I use Dedenne for doubles.

Sets are:
Nuzzle, Helping Hand, Eerie Impulse, and Protect. Holding Air Balloon, so he can switch in when I lead with double dragon and opponent also has dragon, absorbing the meteor, and take no damage from EQ-ing partner.

Speed's quite good with 101 base, also have sableye in the back supporting WoW for team while special attackers been shutted down by him.

Got 3rd place at local tournament last month, so I guess that's pretty good.

Quoting someone here before, the surprise factor is real.

I run Charm and Eerie Impulse. I spam those moves until the opponent kills it. It makes them set up bait for the pokemon that comes in.

Does Big Root increase the leech from Draining kiss to 97.5% or 105%? I'm not sure whether it adds a flat 30% to the drain or if it's 30% of what is currently being drained.

Dedenne can at least do things in doubles when paired with Plus/Minus. It just needs a special fairy move or two. When it comes to Pika clones, it's pretty good, but that isn't saying much. Pretty okay typing all and all. Pretty nice support and general electric movepool. (As others pointed out it having access to Nuzzle, HelpHand and Eerie Impulse)

Probably the first and only Pikaclone I've taken a liking to.

Dedenne would be much better if it had Adaptability instead of Pickup. Also it'd need Dazzling Gleam and Draining Kiss. Moonblast doesn't feel right for it, but it could hit like a truck if it had Specs Adaptabilty Moonblast.

Plus is nice for doubles matches but I kind of feel like Lightningrod would be even better. Volt Absorb could be used instead to keep it healthy, but with Lightningrod there's no need to slap Follow Me on it, so hard to say.

Also I'd personally move 10 points from Attack to Speed to top it off.

So from this thread I have deduced that Prankster/Adaptability/Lightningrod is the optimal combination of abilities for Dedenne to have a spread of niches. And that it absolutely needs to get Draining Kiss and Dazzling Gleam as well.

I believe that just about fixes Dedenne, surprisingly enough.
