I was going to suggest that the badges should be used in pressure plate puzzles to get through Victory Road, with floor-item cleaning to ensure people can't piggyback so easily, but then I realized that A) the cleanup may take the badges before they get through a puzzle, and B) Someone could just drop in gravel or something.
So turning badges in would be more appropriate.
I then think the Elite Four can be decided through some agreement as to the top four trainers in the server, and perhhaps the winner of the tournament can challenge them? Or becomes one of them?
