To be fair, most of the yearly releases are remasters or remakes. They were able to work on Black and White for more than a year, because Platinum and HeartGold/SoulSilver didn't take that many resources from the company. Even Black and White 2 largely used assets from Black and White, allowing them to focus resources on X and Y.

4th gen was hurt too, but HGSS and Platinum were so good that it made up for it.

Man, BW2 is pretty good in retrospect. The engine was spot on, especially with the graphical style.

If you're implying that people bought DS's for DP then you're fucking wrong. There was a 3 year gap between the DS release and DP. It had the large install base beforehand, not after.

Gen 6 was fine on the Pokemon side but Kalos was abysmally boring.

What. The GBA systems sold like shit compared to the original gameboy and DS, the third generation also dominated GBA sales. if anything R/S kept pokemon alive during a time when people wanted a PS2 or xbox instead.

It wouldn't be that hard for the game to read the DV, double it and add one to generate IVs (making the SpA and SpD IVs identical, obviously), and then randomly generate a nature, personality value, and ability.

For that I'm talking about glitch species and whatnot. I believe things like massively obvious hacks and Pokemon affected by the Mimic Glitch, for example, go through.
