A part of what discourages me to enter some giveaway threads is the post count so by the time I see a cool giveaway that has 100 or so posts Im not gonna bother with it because the waiting line for it is like 5 hours minimum.

By lumping it all together, you increase these issues and they overall are less organized.

But yeah, seeing 10 different giveaways at the same time on different topics makes easy to see to anyone we're now in "vp - Pokemon Giveaways". And restricting them to a single general topic won't do anything, will promote circlejerking (like on other generals), and won't resolve all the shitposting that usually happens on /vp/ (especially those related to a certain dragon). And trust me, it's way better to have ten giveaways than ten Bui threads.

I like the idea of keeping them to a few particular days - Sendsday Wednesday? Yoursday Thursday? - but I'm not really sure if we even can. We don't always keep shiny threads to SHW, and some people inevitably post friend safari threads when FSG already has a thread up.

Maybe we could classify them based on the 'mon being distributed, or how many there are. For example, a 100-mon Diancie distro probably deserves its own thread, but that 30-mon Growlithe giveaway from earlier today doesn't really make the cut.

Alternatively, we could arrange things so that only one giveaway is ever happening at a time - no new giveaway begin until the most recent one is finished. Dragonite today, Greninja tomorrow, Darkrai the day after...

I think the one thing the give-awayers can do is deleting the thread after the quota is filled. Especially when they have like a box or two and run out pretty quickly, which leaves the thread to rot. Some people keep spamming the thread with "disc up"s even when the OP claims they're done and the now-useless thread naturally gets bumped.

Fuck at least this trend is Pokemon related and actually gives back to /vp/, if you think this is worth banning then you'll think that the next thing that comes to replace it will be worth banning too.

Just encourage people to keep it to 2-3 threads at a time, the 1 Disc general and whatever major giveaway is going on at the time. Anyone using an OP as a way to beg for something is worth reporting anyway.

A Friend Safari has multiple FC, but all working towards the same objective of "having people with different pokes in their Safaris on people's cartridges". Any giveaway is different, by virtue of the Pokemon given being different, so putting every of them in a single thread would be confusing as hell, especially with the 5-10 threads a day you talk about.

The only problem with that is that EVERYONE does Luvdisc. It's easy to get lost in a sea of luvdisc trades, so sometimes a different shitmon is also good. If they people can't go through the length to catch said shitmon, then clearly they didn't want the thing being given away.

I've learned as a general rule that if your doing a giveaway, dont use a shitmon that someone else is using. Imagine im giving away a shiny bulbasaur with perfect IVs, and I ask for a luvdisc. More people are going to want that in the shortrun then the people as a whole over at luvdisc general.

Using a luvdisc completely shits up and ruins that thread. As an example, the last pokemon I used as a shitmon was a slowpoke.

You can I hide those giveaway thread with filter

For those who doing giveaway like me. We love to see people receiving good Pokemons. We spent hours to distributing them on GTS or normal trade. Its a long and tiring process that we have to endure.

Thats why I normally make a new thread, cuz it will speed up the giveaway process

For me, I only do those distribution whenever I am free but just 2 boxes of pokemons could easily takes me 1~2 or even more to finish.

People don't even read the OP, just because they think the thought of wasting 10 seconds to prevent them looking like a tard and getting ''blacklisted'' by the guys baiting and such will make their chances of getting a mon that much more slim.

some of those are just shinified pokemon, they aren't even usable in a long format, so those threads stagnate for fucking ages because people post a snail's pace and draw out the OP to continue distributing slowly until a halt finally comes.

A part of me wishes PokeGen/PokeCheck would support Gen VI so all this people would stop begging for shit. All giveaways are cloned and hacked anyway so I don't think they would mind doing it themselves there.

But Mods should really start enforcing rules in this place, 4chan is a +18 site first and foremost, all obvious underages should be banned on sight. Emphasis on obvious, since some underage know how to behave themselves.
