Well, that's one thing.
>>20629177No secondary STAB is sort of a big deal for a wallbreaker, and being locked into one move is a bigger issue than you're making it out to be because most stall teams are going to have a lot of fighting resists, especially Slowbro which is getting really popular. Slowbro switches into HJK from Medi and it risks Thunder Punch the next turn. Slowbro switches into banded HJK from Mienshao and now Mienshao is forced to switch out. Oh and if it switches into locked-in Knock Off they can just switch out into a Dark resist and get health back with Regenerator (same with U-Turn,) while Medicham with T-Punch can always beat Slowbro 1v1 discounting Scald burns.
>M-Medicham is statistically inferior to the other megasWait what.
You have three wallbreaker megas. These are Medicham, Gardevoir and Heracross. Of these, Medicham requires the least amount of prediction because offensive pokemon that try to switch in to a resist (e.g. Thundurus, Landorus, Lati@s, Talonflame) take stupid amounts of damage anyway (>70%,) and Medicham can follow up with Bullet Punch (that's another thing: Medicham has priority, Mienshao does not nor do Garde or Hera.) It also has the combination of Fake Out+Bullet Punch, which, for example, does 60% to Latios while Mien is just outsped and KOed. Of course it means you can't run Ice Punch or Thunder Punch, but it does give more utility against offensive teams.
>>20629366>But Mien can just U-Turn out of Venu into something that can take care of it easilyOr you can use a wallbreaker that doesn't need to depend on its teammates. Also Medicham gets Baton Pass, which can act as a poor man's version of U-Turn (it does help that basically all of Medicham's counters are weak to Pursuit.)
