Just give it some ability like

I had a thought of catching all of them and using them all together. Like, bring six at a time in the correct order, deposit them in some tomb, and once you get them all, you get clusterfuck of Unknown back. It'd still only have hidden power, but it'd have pretty OP stats.

Say every unkown gets a special ability that benefits the rest of your team just by being the your party.

Like Just having unown V (Vanish) brings the evasion of everyone in your team up one point except said unown. or Unown Q (Quicken) instantly gives everything in your party +1 speed.

And so on and so forth with every unown letter.

Would it be usable?

It'd be neat but +1 status boosts are a) too plain and b) too overpowered. There are a lot of Pokemon whose sole job is to set up stat boosts for the team and have to take up turns and survive to do it.

Mega Unown gets an ability that makes Hidden Power always go for doubly super effective damage no matter the type match-up. With psychic HP, we're looking at an easy 360 bp move. Throw 70 into speed and 30 into sp. attack to make it viable, and Smogon will throw it into ubers for forcing teams to run Disable.

It wouldn't be banned because it would be SO one-dimensional that there is always a right answer to Unown coming out, every single time. Just another one-trick pony whose trick is powerful but readily counterable by just about any team without special preparation.

First of all, they need more moves.
And a more appropriate ability.

Not being Psychic type would help too.

Something akin to Judgement that is the same type as their HA type.
