@Map, by this I mean, for those who haven't been keeping up, all the greibing and destruction isn't preserved and map is gonna be rolled back when this shit is sorted.

Current progress: Incedo's tool that grabs UUIDs straight from Homojang's servers is semi-working now. He has a few bugs to fix and has gone to bed for the moment. Sounded like it was mostly handling exception users, such as cracked-only usernames and users that didn't have UUID for one reason or another.

If something challenges you and your mount is the first in your party, I think you can battle with it.

Water mounts are pretty hard to control, but no more than flying mounts. Just different places to move. I think land mounts are the most difficult, because you have to move past more obstacles.

I just noticed that the model uses per vertex smoothed lighting. This alone makes me happy. I can only imagine how shit the model would look if it used that blocky shading that some of the other models have.

Keep in mind that for the moment the server will not be saving anything you do.
You need Minecraft 1.7.2, pixelmon 1.7.2-3.1.4 and the matching forge. http://pixelmonmod.com/downloads

Then use http://pastebin.com/Ux6aXh6e to figure out installation details and what youll need for the next server

I don't think OP's been around since people stumbled on the fact 3.4.3 is a thing now. It'll be up to him when he sees.

I would but is it really worth it? You have to decompile Minecraft to do it because Mojang is too incompetent and lazy to add a modding API. To do the entire process needed to make a mod you break Minecraft's EULA and copyright laws too. I'm not sure if this server uses a vanilla client or KumBukkit, which takes even foreverier than Minecraft itself to release its final. Coupled with that will be how long it takes for all the mods we're using to update as well, so it'll likely be some time before we actually get 1.8 ourselves.

The server uses Cauldron, which is a Bukkit fork designed to work with Forge.
Bukkit is shutting down (I don't blame them. Mojang is an asshole for not helping them out) and Spigot is going to support 1.8 so Cauldron will probably switch to them as a base. That would mean it's going to take longer for them to update to 1.8 than it would if they used Bukkit for that update.
So given how long it took Forge and Bukkit to release a development build for 1.7, I'd say we'd get those two upgraded around October. And a pixelmon release would be somewhere between a week and a month, given how incompetent the developers have proven to be.

Server's current state is 1.7.2. We're upgrading that when the UUIds are fixed by the tool.
Unless you're dicking around and don't mind losing progress between now and when server officially rereopens, there's not much point to downgrade for it.

First I was doing a tool but it got messy quick because I code about as well as Mojang. Incedo also was doing one that proved much more competent. It doesn't help that OP/me/Incedo also had school/work to attend to, and Ki's been working on new site. I started with Voxelmap cause it shows players (and mobs) around you, and its waypoints show actual beams of light in the world which is nice. However it lacks a proper, full map so I installed Mapwriter for that and closed its minimap/radar (and unbound most of its keys). The only downside is that Voxelmap's waypoints don't show up on Mapwriter's map. So I'd say try one or both of those.
