Do people still hate Pokémon the way they used to?

Back in the 90's people saw it as the antichrist that gave kids seizures and thought it was filled with crossdresser, animal abuse, racism and anti-American propaganda.

Now other then that whole PETA thing, I can't really think of any controversy surrounding Pokémon.
