My friends and I are having our friendly one-type tournament and I really want to use toxicroak (my team type is poison). I keep seeing all over forums people only use dry skin I like poison touch on him, though. Which ability is better on him?

dry skin gives you an immunity to water as well as letting you absorb water type attacks, while being weak to fire. immunities are generally better than that extra chance to apply normal poison

>>20648622 Dry skin's cool because you not only get an extra immunity, but passive healing in rain.
However, since you're mono-poison, you're probably not using rain, so it's a bit less iffy. Toxicroak tends to be best in rain, which is why PT isn't really recommended.

dry skin is best in rain. if there is a fire team in the contest i would say you might go poison touch. it's up in the air. what other mons are you using? drapion and gengar are sort of necessary.

Use whatever you want. People like to use Dry Skin but if you're not worried about Water-types, Poison Touch can be just as good, even better. I like Toxicroak too, opee.

Main reason scolipede was considered was because of baton pass potential to toxicroak, and possibly muk and arbok but wasn't final because baton pass is a few turns to set up.
Didn't think of Weezing or Amoongus.
Mega Venasur makes no sense to me, I'm not to good with wall strategies

>>20651413 The only thing wrong with Arbok is it's stats, they're a bit subpar. But that doesn't mean you can't make it work. I run a support Arbok on my VGC team and it works great. It went head to head with a Garchomp once that was at full health and won. It's just a matter of giving it support and moveset.
