Why did they create this if they couldn't handle its power? Why purposely give it insane stats only to fuck it over? Why not give it a regular ability and neuter the stats?

They created abilities in gen 3, and once they realized their ability to completely transform the effectiveness of some pokemon, it makes sense that they made pokemon whose concepts are based around the abilities: Shedinja, who is only good due to its ability (tho it still sucks); and Slaking, who would be good without its ability.

Name any Skill Swap user that had either one of the abilities you just say.

The point is to play safely and had the higher possible chance to work out with this, not a gimmick with successive Skill Swap's that can (and will) be broken in half in the middle of the process.

I wouldn't mind. Slaking doesn't need an Attack buff and it's has an alright array of special moves already. Boltbeam,Shadow Ball,Focus and Fire Blast. It could serve as a great mixed attacker.

Well, it'd be bigger that's for sure. If we're going full Primal, chains or ropes would be an absolute must (for moving entire continents and whatnot).

VGC = Video Game Championships.
It's an entirely different meta that is not as restrictive as Smogon, and is doubles focused since doubles is essentially the main battle format of GF/Nintendo. Nuggetbridge and the VGC general here on /vp/ will help you out a lot. There's also a VGC mode on Showdown as well.

I meant less restrictive than smogon because of less banned Pokemon. You can essentially use anything that isn't a legend (Battle Frontier style).
