Battling is covered and expands and develops at its own pace, but stuff like breeding, capturing and training Pokemon is considered such a huge part of the Pokemon world within the games, but is boiled down to extremely simple tasks when you actually have to do them. Considering there are people in the Pokemon world who dedicate their life to hunting Pokemon, it shouldn't be as easy as walking into tall grass and throwing a ball. That should be fine for the weaker Pokemon, but the stronger Pokemon should take a lot more hunting and should be much harder to encounter and catch.
