Ampharos can't one-shot a whole lot but it can easily do 60-70% to nearly anything that isn't a bulky-ass special wall, so if you get up a boost against a weakened team it's a sweep from there. Plus it doubles as a fairly solid tank in the earlier parts of the game.
Resttalk does work, but it's Resttalk. You're going to lose a LOT because of hax, and that's just kinda something you have to deal with.
