To me, you could have a dog that everyone else reckons is the best-looking dog in the universe, but if it's not doing something to help pay for the food it gulps down, then it's an ugly-ass dog to me. Whereas I'd like any dog that guards livestock or helps disabled people, even if it has the canine equivalent of Downs Syndrome.
Same with Pokemon. My bros are my bros because they're competitively viable. People can complain about Rotom-W being a laundromat all they want, but it's really fucking good and has won me tons of matches. That makes it more of a bro than any shitty NU mon with a subjectively good design.
