Not really. Fighting and Steel just about hit the same things. I think you miss out on normal and dark, but dark can be whacked with a bug type stab, and the tech boosted BP probably hits normals harder anyway

Special/mixed Scizor is not as good as Metagross' mixed sets, which aren't all that great in the first place (albeit hugely surprising in a singles battle)

Scizor just doesn't have a special attack stat that can be salvaged easily.
