If Poketransfer detects that the pokemon has its dream world byte enabled, it will change the ability, it's possible to get a kecleon with this byte enabled legally from the gen 5 global link dream world, so I'm not sure if you would count it as legal or just an exploit.

It's also possible to trick Poketransfer into changing the gen 2/5 starters abilities to their HA pic related is how(Dream World Byte).

Protean is a Gen 6 ability. OP's Kecleon is from Gen 5 and has Tutor moves.

Kecleon isn't Kalos Native because the pentagon is missing.
It could be gen 3, 4 or 5. But since it has its HA it is supposed to be gen 5 in a dreamball

You could use any ball in entree forest, you weren't limited to just the dream ball(unless it came from dream radar then it's always supposed to be in a dream ball, but Kecleon was found in the Global link dream world, not Dream radar app).

That's not true actually, if it doesn't have a hidden ability in gen 5 it won't have that byte set when you encounter it in the Dream World.

I've transferred plenty of illegal ball combinations

Timer Ball HA Lugia only legal in a dream ball
Fast Ball HA Ho-oh same as Lugia
Level Ball BellySpeed Linoone only legal in a poke ball
Shiny seed flare jpn event Shaymin in a dive ball
Nest Ball event Celebi
Level Ball V-create event Victini nicknamed with an illegal character in its name Æ was not usable in B2W2 iirc and shows up as a ? in X/Y during battles
Cherish ball Latias which has never been given out in a cherish ball.

Yup, was also able to transfer heavy ball Ferrothorn and Fast ball Scrafty, tho it doesn't matter anymore now that Powersaves is a replacement for illegal balls.
