I started Red Rescue Team yesterday (emuparadise had explorers of time in the blue rescue team download so I had to use red). Explorers of Time was the first mystery dungeon game I completed and I hated the partner's personality. I thought the partner in red rescue team was going to be the same, but it was nice to see that it wasn't
What gave Chunsoft the idea to make the partner in Explorers of Time have such a beta personality?

Anyway, what you said may be true but I felt the partner never really gained a lot of courage. They still backed down to things easily far into the game. That personality trait was also contradictory during the story with the partner being too scared to do anything about some thugs stealing their artifact/good luck charm but willing to go through a cave and fight a bunch of Pokemon while in there.
