Gale Wings isn't the one big factor that keeps Talonflame out of NU. Its typing, stats, and movepool are all really good, and Flame Body Talonflame might even have a small niche in OU as a fast revenge killer and bulky pivot.

It's actually got great bulk with its good defensive typing, and dual 120 base power STABs with Roost, U-turn, Tailwind, and WoW give it a lot of utility.

Flame Body hax is great, as well. Adamant still outspeeds Gengar and Latias, and Brave Bird would still be able to check a large chunk of the tier.

Yeah, look at Noivern, for example. almost the same boat as Tflame without GW and it's good in UU, has a niche in OU as a faster special dragon than Latios, plus works well on rain teams.
