Ingame battles don't work like PvP: if you're left with no Pokémon, you lose, even if you'd win in PvP due to rocky helmet recoil or whatever.

This also includes Destiny Bond wins, which by the way count the same way as Explosions wins: in PvP, if you use that move with your last Pokémon, you automatically lose.
See for example the VGC14 rules ( http://assets22.pokemon.com/assets/cms/pdf/op/tournaments/2014/Play_Pokemon_VG_Rules_and_Formats_2014.pdf )

It counts as the Destiny Bond user's win in any case, even though the loser faints last. Months ago I remember facing one of my friends on cart, and it came down to my Mega Gengar vs their Mandibuzz. I used Destiny Bond in a last-ditch effort at possibly victory, and the game counted it as my win when both our Pokemon fainted.
