No, you guys are taking out relevant information. The "talon + flame" trivia is under the name origin section, which is written for every Pokemon, no matter how obvious. Seel has that section. They're not trying to be lolsosmart, they're trying to be comprehensive.

Their excuse is that it needs to be taken directly from the game resources like the sprites were. I don't think they realize what you need to make that happen.

That was actually explained on Masuda's blog, Pomf just stole it and re-worded it in an extremely confusing manner, probably in an attempt to make it sound like his own discovery.

The actual info on Masuda's blog makes it sound pretty simple actually
