Hey, /vp/! I've been doing some Fakemon work, and I'd like some critiques and or suggestions on what I could do to make the fakemon look better. I have 3 starters + Their evos almost ready, from the requests of "drawfags unite". (I'll post the fakemon into the thread as I go, I'm not very well organized.)

Make the evolution very different from it's previous form but still achieves its core concept and some aesthetics.
Some official pokemon don't follow the rule like the slowpoke line for example but they're a few than what most people think.
The Exeggcute line is a perfect example of an interesting evolution from a seed to a plant. The Magikarp line too, with its concept based on lore.
Try to avoid the "It gets bigger" method. It's boring.

Tacked on stuff isn't stylization. It might not be a specific species, but it is quite literally the shape of a literal dinosaur with no additional theme with stuff tacked on.

What's your point? I added the foliage and rocks on the back; what else would you have me add? I was gonna add palm leaves on the tail but never got around to it.

Notice how Rampardos' body isn't shaped just like the actual animal? That the top of its head is more of a literal dome and that the spike design extends further than just the head? It also has an unique head shape and face.

Aurorus is probably the closest thing to that mon, but even that is stylized with the theme of a princess+ice+the actual dinosaur it's based on got its neck fans pumped up into an aurora borealis.

So let's say I make the theme of this Fakemon something like "pipsqueak" to "sheer enormity." I know Gyarados does it already but I mean to do it in a less "angered" manner than that evolutionary line. What might I do to help accomplish that?

Big head small body prevo, small head(but still easily readable) big body for the evo. As for details that's for you to decide. Maybe choose a specific plant you can incorporate into the design. Maybe a huge plant to go with the huge dinosaur, and the prevo looking like the seed or sprout.
