That maybe makes sense with the lore and the "becoming a dragon" thing, but it has nothing to do with the design. The fact that the line is based on that myth doesn't justify the difference of design base from Dragonair to Dragonite, it has literally nothing to do with the design, nor is the reason for Dragonite to be so different.
Not only that, but in fact, you're making a fool of yourself every time some of you post this. Because you not only post something that doesn't justify Dragonite, but if you fucking knew what are you talking about you would know that argument actually gives the reason to the fags saying that Dragonite ruined Dragonair.
I'm sure this post will be ignored as always and I'll keep seeing this shitty argument about the myth everytime, but whatever.
The legend you're referring, you butterlords, is that of the Imugi, yes, a serpentine creature that wants to become a "real dragon".
A quick search in google images will show that Dragonair indeed can be based on the Imugi, who still has to wait for become a real dragon.
Now to the funny part; do you know how the "real dragons" the Imugis want and some manage to become are called? I'd say not because Imugi is always mentioned in those posts but never the name of the "final form" those Imugis achieve.
Well, the real dragons, also know as what the Imugis becomes once they obtain that "heavenly pearl", are called Yong and Mireu.
Now please, even though I know this probably is going to be ignored, why don't you go look for what the "Yong/Mireu dragons" looks like?
Funny, isn't it? And yet people keeps posting that legend as a "proof" of Dragonite's design.
This raises another question, tho. Why then Dragonite has that kind of design?
Well, I think Sugimori has a really interesting sense of humor, as he showed when he did the same fucking thing with Sliggoo.
Bravo Sugimori, bravo.
