I've seen nu teams "pull of wins" more consistently than this in ou.

If you cant maintain a positive w/l sub 1200 then your team is officially shit. And I dont mean that in the elitist hurr only 1900+ is good way, I mean that in the "12 year olds with karen teams can beat you consistently" way.

also what if the pokemon I actually like are actually good?

Depends on the tier

1500s is amazing in Ubers and Good in UU.

1700 is the cutoff point for the top 500 so take that amount of "gud" as you will.

arcanine has 0 usefulness in OU since mawile left, remove it
if you wanna use wp on dnite just give it max speed and dd>thunderpunch, fire punch>eq is also probably a better option depending on what you want to cover
not a fan of throwing in a quagsire into an offensive team, it's just too passive
medicham doesn't need fire punch with aegis gone, give it zen headbutt instead, also swapping drain punch for ice punch gives you superior coverage (thunder punch is also there, but used only for slowbro), adamant nature is also preferred
remember to place your last 4 evs in one of the defenses and not HP, you want your mons to have an odd hp stat so they can come in more times after SR damage
and speaking about it, you definitely need SR in one of your mons

If you're gonna use WP dragonite at least make it dd, meaning lots of speed, don't need thunderpunch and eq can be swapped out for fire punch if you're having troubles with ferro or sciz, I do prefer eq though

Absolutely no reason for fire punch on medi, since HJK hits everything harder other than ghosts and quad resists, and Drain punch pretty low bp and medi is fairly frail so I'd recommend you replace those moves with ice punch and a psychic stab

like the other guy said the quag seems thrown on with no real thought other than for boosters, if you're that worried you could replace it with clef, does the same job but with better typing and access to sr and heal bell

Use hydro pump on Greninja, it's meant to score KOs and clean up, not wear down things over time with the burn damage. Don't use toxic spikes. Protect Clefable without wish is awful, swap it for flamethrower or something.

i think starmie is a rather lackluster pokemon on your team, nothing is really weak to rocks except for rotom (won't take any hits in the first place) and you have alot offensive pressure with all that voltturn going on, which prevents hazard spam.
Also nice nature on Rotom.

Can anyone give me some critiques? This was my Gen 5 competitive team and I'm trying to tweak it for the Gen 6 meta. I briefly peaked at around ~1700 in Gen 5, this team has really great synergy. I like balanced utility pokemon.

The basic idea is pretty obvious - clear hazards, clear priority, dent up their their walls, and then send in Cloyster to sweep. I prefer mixed Cloyster for taking out bulky physical Steels like Skarmory and Heatran. Worked really well in Gen 5. But I'm having trouble handling Fairies (Magnezone is too slow), some Megas, priority, and I feel like not having a Mega is seriously gimping me.

Would replacing Donphan with Mega Blastoise as my spinner be an upgrade? I'd lose quite a bit of utility but gain raw strength.

I'm thinking about switching out Porygon2 as well. Love his bulk, he's a great universal check, but the threats I needed him to check are much less prominent in Gen 6 and he gets raped by status. And he gets wallbroken much more easily by Megas like Charizard and Gardevoir. I'm thinking maybe a Scarfed suicide wallbreaker?

Also what are the opinions of Lum Berry vs Assault Vest for Machamp? I use him as my lead if that makes a difference.

AV is good for Machamp, but it's even better if you run guts with AV, which makes it a good status sponge. Lum is better for No guard however, so maybe run that. Replace Signal beam on magnezone with something like T-wave or Sub. On Reuniclus, replace psychic with Psyshock and replace lefties with life orb for more power. Replace Donphan with Excadrill or Starmie, as both are far better spinners and provide the speed that your team lacks

replace Metagross with Magnezone as Metagross adds little to your team and Magnezone can fuck opposing steel types clearing the way for Scarfmence and Garchomp should you choose to use it (if you can get one with HP Fire that's excellent too but whatever you'll probably live without it)
give Sala some better moves (Outrage, Fire Blast, Stone Edge)
while we're at that Manectric wants to do as much damage as possible in a hit and run style play so I'd recommend Overheat > Flamethrower.
that Milotic set is just not good at all and Milotic is outclassed by better water types like Vaporeon Suicune and Rotom-W. If you do stick with milotic move the SpA EVs into HP if you still can and replace Aqua Ring with Toxic or even Clear Smog
if you do pick Garchomp make it a Mega set to fuck your opponents walls mad hard and soften their non-steel dragon checks/counters up for Sala (obviously steel dragon checks/counters should go to Magnezone)
as for your last just stick a CB Talonflame on there to Brave Bird the shit outta whatever kills something. alternately, make it a Tailwind Talonflame and change Sala to Choice Band, that way you can Tailwind as they switch to their flying type resist then go into Garchomp/Sala and proceed to rip holes with CB/Mega Outrage.

this isn't a solid team but it's a start.

tbh haze resetting marvel scale isn't too big of a deal unless you're in against a pokemon who can boost and is also a statusmon (like some mega charizard X are with will-o-wisp). You can always switch out and it'll be up again anyway. Some people give it flame orb to activate it immediately and pump everything into HP and Def and I even used to do that. It's handy in a pinch but sometimes you want lefties. I wouldn't worry too much about SpA ev's but if you think you need to you can invest. Probably not a full 252 though for sure

Politoed is unfortunately really shitty but can work in NU

Deviating from what Smogon has you could try a Bulk Up set for extra power, or an Assault Vest set (complete with Scald to cover both defensive sides). SubPunch is always fun and Water/Fighting has pretty good coverage in NU (Grass/Poison, notably Vileplume resists but that's what teammates are for).

If you want this for OU then jesus christ please no but my only advice would be to build a standard offense rain team (Politoed, Kingdra, MegaMan?, Ferro, MegaZor etc.) and just slap a Swift Swim Belly Drum/CBrath on over what would normally be Kabutops' place.

It doesn't even require EV spread or anything. Just 2 moves. Fling and Acrobatics. Obviously holding a Toxic orb.

Forgot to say my general strat is to set up scizor with scolipede and sweep endgame.

You can't afford to change defog for something else, you absolutely need it when you've got this much voltturn. In fact, that's ALL your team has. What I don't like about the team is that you don't have a hard hitter that can abuse the momentum you get from all these voltturn users. It seems to be really annoying, but the moment someone stops you from voltturning constantly, if you can't get rocks up, you lose. The team also seems prone to be overwhelmed by HO and nothing breaks stall either.
Why not use a mega Medicham or mega Heracross who are super hard to wall and demolish teams by themselves? Though that'd mean losing Scizor, stuff like Clefable would give you problems and you'd need another defogger then.. not sure about what to do here without some other changes.
Anyway, Scolipede is always gimmicky and unreliable, I'd rather have another mon on that slot.
I've never seen Spd Rotom-w be useful, what does it even wall? I'd rather use the physically defensive spread.
Ferro without attacks is a free switch in for so many dangerous shit it's not even funny, I'd run gyro or power whip over toxic.
I take Thundy's evs are a mistake as well? Max SAtk instead of HP.

It's kinda different. Some things are still viable, but the meta is a bit more offensive.

Magic speed number has always been either 14 for scarfers. However, this gen, I'd say it hovers between 17 and 19. Only like Abra reaches 19 speed anymore (MUH BANS), but a lot of good mons are at the 17 speed tier, which makes it the speed number with the most ties.

Some things like sun offense and bird spam are good in this meta, and voltturn is as good as ever. Balance still works.

Just check the viability rankings.

Why even run Poison Jab? All Fairies outspeed anyway. It's only really useful for preventing Belly Drum, still gets beat by CB and AV. Clefable laughs off non-STAB Poison Jab.

because you immediately forfeit any shred of momentum if you lack Poison jab, an the opponent has a fairy.

At least with Poison Jab you can do lasting damage to Azumarill, and put some pressure on Clefable. The game is not just a series of what 2HKOs what. Creating the free switch out of CLefable as its forced to heal is different from giving it a free turn.

The idea is to set up tailwind with Zapdos mid to late game, then let Medicham go to town. I chose Zapdos for the role because it's reasonably bulky and handles things like Slowbro and Talonflame, which Medi hates.
