>>20737103Thundurus is still completely ridiculous. I run a utility set on my team; I added it on a whim, never really liked it, wanted to try it out after hearing that it's still S rank.
It's so powerful. It's always useful in every battle, and has no opportunity cost whatsoever. It's a pivot, revenge killer, insurance against sweepers, and cleaner all in one. I run Lefties with Volt Switch, Twave, and coverage.
It can just some in and spam Volt Switch all the time. Twave stops sweepers dead, and simply having on my team dissuades the opponent from trying any setup mons. This makes it safer for me, and gives me a measure of control over the momentum of the game.
Plus, it resists EVERYTHING. Gives it much more bulk than it should reasonably have. The only problem Thundurus has is that it's walled kinda easily. Between Garchomp and Excadrill blocking my Volt Switches and Twaves, Megasaur and Manectric walling my coverage moves, or entry hazard damage, there's a decent chunk of OU that dgaf about Thundurus.
I'm not sure if I'd agree with a ban, though. It's a nuisance, but a manageable nuisance. It does have Nasty Plot and those Defiant sets, though...
