Yeah, it's the reason why I've jumped back into the game.

One is a Karenfag that uses gimmicky movesets, the other uses the generic ten year old starter/legendary team, the rest are pretty normal, and I'm their Bulbapedia.

I've recently taught them about IV breeding and gave them 6IV Dittos, just to make our battle somewhat interesting.

A good friend of mine from grade school plays, but he doesn't battle me anymore since the last time I slapped his shit. Afterwards, he said he was going to breed a perfect team, so I did the same- only he never did the breeding. Now he won't battle my in-game or bred team.

A friend of mine from college talked a big game about how she could totally kick my ass. We finally battled and she busts out a team of legendaries and pseudos, and got absolutely rekt. Now she won't battle me anymore.

I'm a karenfag and I don't gloat. This is some bullshit.

I taught my girlfriend to play Pokemon but other than that, no. I miss the days when I was 8 and all of my friends were into Pokemon and we were battling and trading all day long. It was truly magical time even though the link cable was complete shit and never worked properly.

Yes. One of my friends annoy me though because he always boasts how much he can beat my other friends, but never boasts about beating me. Mainly because he has a 2-15 estimated record against me, and the wins were only when we all drank which impairs my strategy (drinking and Pokemon is one of our activities).

One drinking battle I'll never forget, we both had one mon left. Mine was a full health Rotom Mow with Choice Scarf, his was an Aggon with it's mega stone, 45% health. He used EQ that KO'd my last mon, and I wanted to win with style. Used Trick to lock him into a useless attack, forgot that you can't remove mega stones, and locked myself into a useless attack. Still brags about it to this day, despite his other losses.

I think i did once, I turned 23 and realized he was still stuck in the hot topic "im so gay" phase that people usually go through when they are finally comfortable with coming out, but I stuck around cause I sort of felt bad for him, then I turned 25 and he remained the same, he was the only person I knew who played and I literally cant even stand to be in the same room as him anymore because he's so goddamn annoying

I'm 25 and I play pokemon and while that isnt the greatest thing it is a hell of a lot better than being 25 and buying all your clothes at hot topic because they are tmnt themed or whatever the new flavor of the week thing is in "geek kultur"

I've met a lot of other people that play and that are sane but they're just associates really

Three friends and I all bought a 2DS an X/Y, they all played for a bit, one actually bothered to breed a perfect team (and then didn't understand EV training so still got his shit slapped), the other two just used Xerneas, Lucario and their starters in our multibattle. They've all stopped now, but they're getting ORAS.
My older brother plays but he mostly MM's, and then there's a bunch of people I met at Nationals but ironically they're generally even more casual.
I know some people in my building play because I keep streetpassing them while sitting in my room, but I don't know who they are.

a lot of my friends that ive known since elementary school and on we became friends through pokemon and a good portion of us still play. all competitively (though some more serious than others) we are all smogon fags and we all took the day off work when X&Y came out and we spent 16 straight hours playing it together. that was a glorious day!

Actually I just moved to Brownsville recently.
Been living here for almost 4 months now and still haven't made any friends. Back home though I have a group of friends that we occasionally get together for a couple of beers, butch about work lol, and play Mario Kart 7 and Pokemon. We're all pretty normal dudes in our mid 20's. I miss them terribly.

I have a few

1: My fiance. Knows his stuff and loves to use builds you wouldn't usually see or gimick teams. Is currently making a D&D themed team.
2: Really knows his stuff and I can ask him just about anything Pokemon related and he will know it. Spends a lot of time playing it and breeding stuff for the group. Moved away though so i don't get to see him a lot
3: Quiet guy, plays VGC, Loves Salamence and latios but hates their megas so much.
4: This guy is always mad. Hacks everything and anything I need though usually I just build it myself. If I ask him any advise on the game though he just answers sarcastically. He edits for Smogon.
5: Plays mostly for fun. Asks me sometimes to build him things. Has had over 50 people rage quit games from him using a Denenne I made for him
6: She mostly plays for fun. Some of her decisions confuse me (serious why pyroar you could use any other fire type). Used to do a lot of breeding for the group like I do.
