Make no mistake, Game Freak invented the Apple model. Give 'em just enough so that they buy, but leave 'em unfulfilled and wanting more. Then they add features and take them away, and then bring them back or create remakes so they can sell it to us all over again.

If GF ever just went balls-out and gave us actual fully fleshed-out features in a Pokemon game, it would make for an awesome as fuck game, but they wouldn't be able to sell us what is essentially the same product year after year.

Business world is shitty.

It's just Game Freak's M.O. In each game there are many missed opportunities that are evident to even the newest players of Pokémon, things you immediately recognize as possible but simply not executed.

Little things like more / obvious outfit choices and big things like purposely leaving out features from previous titles only to bring some of them back in the sequel (and then leave them out again in the next Generation). Somewhere along the line of production excluding beneficial features or not going above and beyond with content already included in the game is a conscious decision made within Game Freak and it's the one thing I dislike about them.
