That's merely how the rules would dictate things. I would mostly feel the same way personally, but I have had to live with a lot of unfortunate truths from just letting people be. That is the true crime here. You claim to be open, but that is not what's happening at all. Instead, you wish to promote a certain way of thinking. This may be how most of the world works, but I disagree with that as well. I truly think that it would do us all some good to just change to an nsfw board and let the people just do what they want. If you don't like it, then don't go there. Simple as that. If you can't leave well enough alone, then neither does anyone else have to pay attention to you.
