>>20764478Pokemon Reborn implemented the Terrain effects really well. There were gym battles that took place on certain terrains, and not just types but specific moves and abilities were boosted. For example, Grassy Terrain boosted Fairy Wind, Grasswhistle, Growth, Coil and Silver Wind but nerfed Surf and Muddy Water. Moves like Heat Wave turned Grassy Terrain into a Burning Field, which boosted fire moves, activated Flash Fire/Flare Boost and dealt type-based damage every turn.
The latter was pretty overpowered, though, since I had an Arcanine with Flash Fire, Flare Blitz and Heat Wave, meaning that Flare Blitz had 120*1.5(STAB)*1.5(Flash Fire)*1.5(Terrain)=405 base power plus the Fire equivalent of Stealth Rock being dealt to the opponent each turn. The idea is excellent, though. So much missed potential for extra depth.
