Is there a working 3ds Emulator out there? I don't want to spend shit on the new games as I've only heard bad things, but I have to try them out at least..

No there's not any working emulator of the 3DS, and there likely won't be for quite some time.
The bad things you are hearing are the vocal minority as usual, complaining about minor things that don't detract from the enjoyability of the games.

The new games are great, only babies cry about the Exp. Share as if you can't turn it off. Gen 1 pandering is a bit much, but tolerable because you're not forced to actually use Lapras or the starter you get.
