Because the partner in Time/Darkness/Sky was too beta for my liking. I like Sky the best, but if it was any worse I'd like Blue Rescue Team better.

Gates. Story had a good impact on me, but I won't deny that Sky had a damn good story as well.
They were both solid games for me, really.

God, I'm still mad at Gates to Infinity. They removed several mechanics, cut down the playable pokémon to a third, gave us barebone graphics and music, there's NO postgame content and a lot of DLC. Treat Road is even a must if you ever want to get your team to Lv. 100.

And then there's the hidden superbosses that are supposed to be challenged by a team of at least three players (but you can go alone, but you better have a shitload of seeds). That super Ho-Oh that hits the entire room and almost always criticals is BS.

I'd say Sky, but it was a kick to the nuts not being able to play as Meowth who got relegated to being partner only.

Being cute, having the best facial expressions and having Technician and Pickup simultaneously was pretty badass.

Although Sky's technically the better game, I'm saying Gates.

Way less grindy so I'm not tunnelled on 'me' and the partner and the story was a vast improvement over Explorers's (Special episodes were still good though)

Time/Darkness and especially Sky pulled me in the most. Red/Blue was great too, a lot simpler as a first though so very nostalgic.

But I still haven't beaten post-game part of the story of TD/Sky which I've gone back to play

Gates wasn't interesting enough for me to bother continue through the sudden difficulty spike of the final dungeons.
