They use a symbol from another language that looks like a C and allows you to get away with this. Look it up in your "game keyboard", you have some keys with symbols for other languages.

I'm wondering more about how the heck they got a Jirachi in the gts, regardless of the nickname.

I'm guessing the GTS looks for the red pokeball and/or ribbon to check is an event and not the actual species.

If i'm remembering right, it has something to do with the "fateful encounter" thing. That's why you can't trade Colosseum/Gale of Darkness mons too.

Remember, Pokeball Vivillon can't be traded in the GTS but the other vivis can.

Nope. You can gen a Jirachi in a regular ball and no ribbons and it'll still get special mon'd.

No, the species itself is flagged, thats how the filter works. I've tried codes to take of ribbons and put something in a generic ball

I have cyber gadget and I've tried taking it off as well as putting it in a normal ball, getting rid of ribbons, putting it in a pokeball, nothing will get it to show up.
