Me and some friends are trying to figure out the gender of Ivysaur. One friend thinks it makes more sense to call it female but we just can't see it. What do you guys think?

if it is dioecious then it is both female and male.
look for an anther (male) or stigma (female) to determine the sex of a plant.

I often wonder the same for every pokemon I breed... Just a matter of which I feel more likely to play with.
I always thought of Zoroark as male, but since the RNG threw me an hexaperfect female, I went with it, loved it.
Female Aggron... not so much, might rebreed that one.

And to me, Ivysaur is like a angry teen, but a male one. Venusaur's horrible toadlike appearance sure fits more a male than female.
