Yeah what the hell. He made terrible team choices when he went up against him. And it's not like it was surprise he fucking knew the guy had a Darkrai from the start. Sceptile was a good choice yeah (and was the one to down Darkrai) but Torkoal, Swellow, Heracross, and Gible? Charizard should have been a shoe in, and he probably should have went for his other powerhouses like Snorlax and Donphan too over those guys.

Gible ok maybe.

Swellow's decent yeah, but it's not particularly more amazing than his other birds from every season, and certainly not something to bring to fight against a guy you know as a monster powerhouse when you have other options like Charizard or Snorlax.

Heracross could have been something, but Ash almost never uses him and he usually gets his ass kicked when he does so you'd think he wouldn't bother, again especially when he has powerhouses of his own he's for some reason not using.
