What does /vp/ think of Absol? Mega-Absol?

I don't care for it.
Its normal form is OK design wise but I don't know what they were doing with its mega.
Its mega is alright, STAB sucker and magic bounce are always handy.

I love both Absol and M-Absol. It's easily my favorite Dark-type, and it does wonders for me in battle. My only complaint is that it's so frail, but it does well in doubles if I give it a good partner.

I run mine with Blizzard, Dark Pulse, Me First, and Psycho Cut. I transferred him all the way up from Sapphire, so his nature and standard ability aren't the best.

What I don't understand is why the vast majority of people in the community think its mega design makes it edgy trash. M-Absol perfectly follows up on Absol's lore, and is an excellent visual representation of a doomsayer (imo).

It's alright.
I like the mega a lot. I remember trying to use it in R/S and being really disappointed. The mega made it useful, plus it's pretty cool looking.
It's also the first Pokemon I ever successfully MM'd.

I'm going to use one in OR. I really like the normal form design, and I started liking his Mega after I learned that those things on his back arent actually wings. The only downside is his fanbase, which is about on par with Eeveelutions fanbase, ie. obnoxious as fuck.

I think Absol has a sweet design. I also think that its mega is awesome. What I don't like, however, is when people anthropomorphize/sexualize Pokemon. That is always disturbing.

You should brush up on EVs, though. They're pretty simple and can help out quite a bit in the long run. Personally, I use a Gallade as my catcher because Hypnosis.

Mega Absol is much better than people give it credit for. It's difficult to use, but deadly in the right hands.

I mean, it's a Dark type with 150 / 115 / 115 offenses, an amazing movepool, Magic Bounce, Swords Dance, and the Dark-type trifecta of moves (Sucker Punch, Knock Off, and Pursuit).

People need to stop thinking of Magic Bounce as a Stealth Rock reflector. Once you realize that any status move is a free switch in, Mega Absol becomes much more dangerous.

It kinda suffers from 4mss, but you can tailor its moveset to aid your team. Need Thundurus gone? Done.

It's too difficult to use though, so nobody bothers.

I've run numerous Absol sets, and this is the most effective one.
Ice beam and fire blast help absol deal with Gliscor, Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Scizor, all of which give Absol a lot of problems.
