Just use a M-Gengar against them. That's the best explanation. Same applies to everything. Be sure to examine their teams for Ubers beforehand, only use Ubers they use along with the one you're using as an example.

Well for Mega Mom it might be good to just use it against them.

With Mega Gengar's special brand of brokenness, it's not as easy. A casual won't understand that they needed pokemon-A to handle your pokemon-B, and that the reason why B was able to rip through their team was because Mega Gengar removed A.
